Last week on Valentine's Day Brandon surprised me at work with flowers! It was really quite romantic, if I say so myself. That particular day at work, I had gone to another school to do some testing on a kid. Remember, I am brand new to the area and the schools, so I knew no one at this school. Mid-way through testing, a staff comes in to tell me I have a visitor at the front office. In my head, I think who can this be? I don't know anyone here! Am I in trouble? Does some clinical person need to see me? Who?!?!
I walk to the office and open the doors and there is Brandon, in his dress blues, holding flowers. Swoon. I was really surprised! He had gone to my work first and my supervisor had given him directions to where I was. It was really sweet.
After Brandon left, the secretary was said, "Well that was a romantic gesture! Those uniforms sure are handsome!" I completely agree.
I finished the work day and went home with my beautiful flowers. Brandon actually got off work at 6 because it was "kind of" a holiday according to his boss. We made dinner at home and relaxed. This month has been very tough for Brandon, so any extra time off work is welcome.
I was grateful for Recruiting Duty on Valentine's Day because Brandon was able to surprise me in his blues. Back in the fleet, he probably wouldn't have been able or wouldn't have even thought to do this. So I was grateful for this duty for this one day. But I am grateful for Brandon everyday!
