Finding Nemo

Well, we actually found Nemo. He was at our house for about 8 hours dumping copious amounts of snow all over!

The big storm was supposed to hit around noon on Friday, so schools got early release! Score! It was pretty awesome because only about 10 kids showed up to school (we only have about 30ish kids) which made for a pretty easy, laid-back day. When I checked my phone before heading home Brandon had texted me at 9:30am and said, "Guess who beat you home?" I was so excited. I thought the Zombie Apocalypse would have to hit before the USMC would let their recruiters off early! Brandon and I joined some people at work for lunch. It was nice to mingle with other people together. We haven't done that in a few months now. Crazy! We went to Target after lunch and it was closed for the storm! It wasn't even snowing yet. I was so upset and knew my cats would be too if I didn't get them some food. We stopped at the grocery store on the way home and I ran into another person from work. I am finally starting to know people, yo! When we arrived home, the snow was just starting to fall, four hours after they had predicted. It started snowing and then it never stopped until we woke up Saturday morning.
Beginning of the storm vs. the end

Here are some pictures of the foot of snow we got! We didn't even venture out into the front yard today, so all the photos are from the back.

We went outside a few times today, mostly so Brandon could shovel paths for Brawley in the back yard. If we didn't shovel paths, Brawley would sink in all that snow. It's really funny to watch him run around the paths, it's like he is a dog racer or something. I will have to try to get a video of it sometime. Brandon builds pretty elaborate tracks for Brawley to run through.

There was a driving ban today until 2:00pm today, so we couldn't even go someone if we wanted too. Luckily, we didn't want to and we just stayed at home all day. Brandon even got to catch up on some much needed sleep.
We are so grateful he was able to go home so early yesterday. It actually feels like he got a weekend. And he desperately needed it. Tomorrow he is off to take a poolee to MEPS, so he will have to work for a few hours.

I have had so many other things I wanted to blog about about, but wanted to show the snow pictures since a few people were asking! I am sure I will get around to some more posts later this week!
