730 days

That's right, Brandon and I have been married for 730 days! That's two years people! Time went by quickly and so much has changed. We started out married life in our humble 2 bedroom apartment in La Mesa, Ca that we shared with our dog and two cats. And now, here we are on the other side of the country in a quaint little house with the best backyard a little puppy could ask for. We still have the cats, but more importantly, we have each other. It sounds cheesy but it's so true. I can't begin to even picture my life without Brandon. I don't even like to think about it, but my mind wanders and gets a little morbid sometimes. Anyways, the term "better-half" really does apply in my situation. Brandon is so much more patient, generous and relaxed than I am. He is easy going, likes to have fun and never takes anything too seriously. I just love him.

Last year on our first anniversary, Brandon was in training for recruiting duty in West Springfield, Ma. We were holed up in an extended stay hotel. We had to throw out the top of our wedding cake about a month before since we couldn't take it with us across the country. We settled for dinner in the hotel lobby and a grocery store bought cake. It wasn't bad by all means, but our second anniversary was much better. After work, we took our little pup on a walk and then headed out the door for dinner at Mazzeo's, one of the very few fancy restaurants here in Pittsfield. We stuffed our faces with Italian food and ordered what ever we wanted. It was the best.

Here are some highlights from our second year of marriage:
- Adjusting to New England
- Buying a house
- Making new friends
- Spending the holidays together, just the two of us
- Trip to West Virginia to see my brother (who we hadn't seen in nearly 2 years!)
- Home renovations
- Trips to NYC to see my nephews and cousins
- I got a grown up job!
- Vacation in Maine

Some things we are looking forward to as we go into our third year of marriage:
- Our 6th USMC ball together
- Finishing the kitchen!
- Going to California for Thanksgiving
- Brandon kicking butt at Recruiting Duty
- Completing our 2nd year out here
- More trips to NYC, Boston and others...

Our marriage is far from perfect and it is something that we have to work at everyday. It's worth it though. I love having Brandon as my person to share happy times with, console me when I'm sad and make me laugh when I'm being too serious. Here's to the next 365 days together!
