Busy, busy!

I have been so busy with my work, life, and my new venture - Bravo Zulu Sisterhood! For many years now, I have dreamed of starting an organization that was dedicated to featuring military wives that have accomplished or are accomplishing their educational and career goals. Because I married later in life (compared to most in the military), I had already completed my bachelor's degree and has started my Master's program. I strongly believe that military spouses have something unique and great to offer to their communities and they should constantly be striving to make the world around them better by volunteering, working, hosting play groups, starting a work out team, etc. I was inspired by Martha Stewart's "Dreamers into Doers" program which featured women who quit their jobs (if they had one) and started their own business. I want to feature successful military wives to show other military wives that it can be done. You can gain an education and have career while living the military lifestyle and having a family. With all the cutbacks and and uncertainty, it is more important than ever that military spouses pursue an education - vocational or traditional, so that they can support their families if necessary.

Because I am starting this organization from scratch, it's a very slow process. And because I work full-time, I often spend my nights and weekends recruiting interviewees and updating our website and social media sites. It's very time consuming, but something I feel very passionate about. I hope to turn it into a legitimate non-profit organization where we can inspire military wives, help them plan their educational/career goals, and feature successful spouses.
